WHO IS MISS J    Y?

ANGELINA JOY EMANUELE
Artist, Songwriter & The Creator of THE JOY HOUSE  for kids
AKA MISS JOY AND THE JOY HOUSE FOR KIDS

MUSIC by The Artist Angelina Joy Emanuel

MISS JOY'S STORY
"She writes radio friendly, high energy, toe tapping catchy pop songs that have awakened the dead!"

Music Connection 1995

Angelina Joy Emanuele AKA Miss Joy has had songs placed in TV and Film. Access Hollywood used her song 'Kick Inside" and 'Let's Get To It" over 100 times next to some of the greatest songwriters ever eg. John Lennon and Paul McCartney PLUS dozens of others (see the cue sheets if you do not believe). UMPG (Universal Music Publishing Group) now owns the publishing on these songs. Miss Joy has been writing many commercial sounding songs for decades. See JOY SONG HOUSE MUSIC (ASCAP).

Over the years creating The Joy House for Kids she chose to focus on writing positive self esteem building Joy House Music that teaches, motivates and inspires kids to believe in themselves something that she believes is missing in the world of music and that kids really need.  Music makes all learning fun so that is what Miss Joy started to do use all her old music in all The Joy House classes, parties, school assemblies & shows that she taught and created and continues to use. She is slowly releasing lots of this "old" music at The Joy House on all the new digital platforms, She is driven and on a mission to create a new happy "JOY HOUSE WORLD" for ALL kids somehow someway and it will be built on only POSITIVE JOY HOUSE MUSIC and all the NEW JOY HOUSE SONGS that she continues to write everyday! Everyone who TRULY cares about children will be invited to contribute and help build this new world she sees in her mind and is building EVERYDAY!

She is also writing her biography which she calls THE SINGLE GIRL MUSICAL based on her life and story of dreaming, writing, creating, building and never ever giving up (and yes her story is still "unfolding") but it is basically about daring to be who you are and having the courage to keep living your dream no matter what life throws you. By always finding the strength everyday to keep living your dreams learning to "Find your Joy"  and by learning to "Follow your heart", Do what you love, Work hard and Never giving up".

It's all the music that she wrote in "The Early Years" and was produced by some great producers from around the world!

Micheal Rosenblatt who discovered many major acts in the 80's, including Madonna, heard SINGLE GIRL back in London in1991 and he was the one who told her that her music was really commercial and strong and she belonged in America! So here she is still living her dreams and slowly they are all coming manifesting and coming true!

Here is another song she wrote called IT GIRL

She wrote this song after her first child and she wanted to remind herself and all women no matter what even if they become mother's, raised kids, ended up focusing all their time on others, their kids or their work, their busy lives plus dealing with, men, the drama and other people's mess that  life throws us all we must all remember and never forget 'We ALL have an inner "It Girl" inside us no matter what age and it's very important to nurture that "IT GIRL" to stay sane". She will be releasing "THE IT GIRL SONG" soon on Spotify later this year and will be using it of course in THE SINGLE GIRL MUSICAL!

Another major person who was instrumental in her life as a songwriter in music from coming from "just being great dancer" was the music legend Frank Zappa. He came up to her in Venice Beach (when she was performing off of her patio on the boardwalk) in 1992 and said "I have heard very, very good things about you young lady!" His kind words never left her mind! Then Stevie Wonder's words on the phone in 1993 "KEEP THE FAITH", Malcom Maclaren (manager of The Sex Pistols) writing her a note saying "Angelina you were great, keep jumping I know you will make it!" at 14 years old when she danced at the Australian National Countdown and Polygram's Flashdance Competition in 1983 on National TV (in Australia that was like The American Idol of the day and he was a judge)! Then there was the music exec Danny Bramson (who discovered Tom Petty),  John Wooller at Virgin UK, Issac Hayes, Bobby Womack, Tony Bartuccio, Rex Reid AM , DT Robinson plus so many other angels, producers, musicians and friends that believed in her and that came into her life for a reason over the years and they all told her to keep believing in herself, she was gifted, she wrote great pop songs and to keep believing in herself and her talents, creativity and dreams. Their positive words of encouragement and wisdom never left her mind they fueled that fire and passion in her belly and in hard times and their words were what reminded her why she came to America and why she had to stay strong for the kids and to find the strength to keep listening to that little voice. She just had to keep going and to keep following her heart and to never ever give up and of course the positive reviews she received when she performed live in "The Early Years" helped a lot!
She just knew she was a great performer and song writer but she new she had to build something great and make it her way!

So it is hard work, hope, innate faith she has in herself and knowing she has a gift of communicating with kids and how her JOY HOUSE MUSIC makes them happy that has literally kept her going and having to find a way to survive and raise her kids as a single mom which not easy in this world.

She has seen THE JOY HOUSE magic work for decades through the response of all the kids, parents and teachers who have all helped her to keep going and never stop believing in THE BIG PICTURE. After all these years her BIG PICTURE has now  become THE JOY HOUSE WORLD! She knows in her heart, all kids need it and is on a mission to build it.

In 2005 when Miss Joy took The Joy House TV Show to MIPTV China, Africa and India wanted The Internet rights to The Joy House and that was way before there was streaming and mobile content. They all told the kids would love her content would. So she knew it could work in every country! Knowing this it gave Miss Joy great belief in her  vision and that is why she has never stopped creating The Joy House for all kids!

Then in 2007 Miss Joy was Washington DC & Time Warner Cable

US FINALIST for The Cables' Leaders in Learning Awards

for CABLE IN THE CLASSROOM for GENERAL EXCELLENCE

For  The Joy House TV Show, Joy House Music, Vision & work with kids

GENERAL EXCELLENCE . . for leaders who have demonstrated excellence in expanding and enhancing learning opportunities by employing a diversity of traditional and non-traditional approaches to producing measurable improvements in education outcomes in formal or informal settings.

Then in 2019 The Joy House Pre & After School Program voted

The Best of for 2019 Studio City Awards.

ALL SHE KNOWS IS SHE IS LISTENING TO HER HEART AND IS ON A MISSION.

SHE HAS TO KEEP WRITING, CREATING & BUILDING SOMETHING GREAT FOR  ALL KIDS AND SOON THE BEST OF THE BEST WILL WANT TO COME AND HELP HER TO HELP KIDS HELP THEMSELVES AND FIX THIS MESSED UP THE WORLD.
MARK MY WORDS THE JOY HOUSE FOR KIDS IS GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD!

Here is video of how Miss Joy came up with The Joy House for kids

The note below Miss Joy wrote in 1999 on her website that she built the same year Google, Amazon and PayPal all started. She has always known one day The Joy House time would come she had to just live it and trust that timing is everything! Miss Joy predicted the future back in 1999! It was by working with the kids of South Central, in Los Angeles, where she started teaching The Joy House she saw the need 30 years ago! She knows this is what motivated her to start using her creativity to start writing, creating and building THE JOY HOUSE for all kids of the world!

Here is the note predicting the future written by Miss Joy in 1999.

"I would to thank those who have believed and continue to believe in this huge dream called THE JOY HOUSE. Which is basically to help build positive self esteem, good work ethics, discipline, creativity in kids and teach them how to dream and feel special about themselves via all forms of multi - media and get it out to ALL children of the world.
To do what you love and love what you do is the essence to happiness.
THE JOY HOUSE will be a vehicle to help, teach, motivate, guide and inspire to DREAM. So hopefully one day kids will bring "the feeling of feeling good about themselves" into their adult lives by staying out of trouble and becoming self sufficient people who contribute something POSITIVE and PRODUCTIVE in this messed up world which we live in today...
It is getting worse and the kids are the future and we are their teachers
We artists, parents and teachers are their role models" Miss Joy 1999

It is simple .......... Give Joy, Get Joy!

WHO IS MISS JOY? (The Short Bio)

Miss Joy, is the multi talented artist and entertainer Angelina “Joy” Emanuele singer, song-writer, dancer, choreographer and performer from the LAND DOWN UNDER, who finds great joy in teaching children to dream. THE JOY HOUSE, was created by Joy from teaching dance and singing to her original Joy House Dance Music at pre–schools and after school programs throughout Los Angeles. Inspiring, motivating and teaching children to "dream" and believe in themselves through music and introducing them to fitness, dance, music, singing, songwriting, performing & designing is something she finds truly rewarding. She has a natural affinity and love for communicating with children. She has been performing, entertaining and writing songs all of her life "living her dream" but it was by witnessing the lack of exercise, physical activity, creativity and positive creative outlets for children in Los Angeles plus the constant negativity children are exposed to on a daily basis in music and the media that inspired her to create this multimedia vehicle for kids that combines education and entertainment together in a creative, positive, constructive and responsible way. So step by step, class by class, song by song and show by show she has continued to keep building this very special world for kids she has called THE JOY HOUSE that is slowly but surely becoming a reality. It will one day be the“new vibe "for kids. An interactive place where kids can visit, learn and have FUN!

To TEACH, CREATE and ENTERTAIN she feels blessed to have found a way to live her life loving what she does.Through her hard work, perseverance and determination she discovered her niche and her market! The kid’s make her HAPPY and she makes them HAPPY! That is how her slogan “GIVE JOY, GET JOY” came to be.Just by having the strength to find ways to live out her dream, she discovered the way... her way.

It is universal, global and it works. Help kids help themselves by making them feel special and feel good about themselves. in the past she has written for Creative Child Magazine, LA Family Magazine and she has taught for the Los Angeles Unified School District’s LA’S Best Elementary After school Program “Best Faces” helping at risk youth and their families by making programs such as THE JOY HOUSE, which was sponsored by The Mayor RICHARD RIORDAN's Office, available to them. She wants to create a program that can be available to all children who want it and that can be introduced to all schools she knows because she already did it that TV is the best way. JOY is definitely on a mission to make a better world for children. She changes children's lives for the better!

HER STORY (The Long Bio)

Angelina "Joy" Emanuele, AKA  Miss Joy, is a professional dancer, choreographer, songwriter, singer, actress, entertainer, producer and entrepreneur, who has studied, performed and taught all around the world. A versatile and multi – talented artist who finds great joy in teaching others to dream.

This girl originally from Adelaide, Australia became an International Gypsy Girl with a very Big Dream at a very young age.

The oldest of five children who were all blessed with a wonderful upbringing filled with opportunity and support from a great family. She attended Scotch College (where she was School Captain) while studying ballet, jazz and gymnastics with some of Australia's greatest teachers in the world; Rex Reid AM, Helen Beinke, Kay Cranwell, Luccette Aldous, Anne Tannenbring, Denise Fisher, William Carse, Tom Farlie, Miss Wellington & many others.

At 15 she began dancing professionally in a ballet company called The Adelaide Dance Company and danced at venues such as The Sydney Entertainment Center, Victorian Arts Center Ballet, Festival Theater,  plus touring all over Australia. At 16 she was studying and performing in Europe at The Princess Grace Ballet School in Monte Carlo, Monaco with Marika Besobrasova and at 17 at The Center of the Performing Arts. At 18 she auditioned and was accepted as a cast member in Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS, (which opened her eyes and made her see there was a world beyond just classical dance) and at 19 she was producing and directing her own dance company as well as choreographing for major corporate companies, television shows and commercials in Australia including The Adelaide Grand Prix.

She was always involved in competitions and as a result she won Best Newcomer Photographic in Australia in1987. At 12 she won the 5AD Radio Station’s “ Xanadu Dance Competition" in her hometown of Adelaide and at 14 ABC’s Countdown & The Polygram National Flashdance Competition in 1983. It was also there she met Malcom McLaren (Sex Pistols) who said. "Angelina you were terrific! Keep jumping. I’m sure you’ll make it!" Just one of the many people during her childhood that have inspired her to dream big. She was also judged by Russel Mulcahy, Duran Duran, Haysi Fantazee and Tony Bartuccio (who became her agent).

In 1990 realizing that it was the music that had always been what motivated her to dance, she began writing, performing and recording her own music. With her first demo (consisting of songs produced by Chez Haynes, Yuri Worantschak and Mike Duffy formerly engineer from PWL Stock, Atkin and Waterman) and a music video "Burning up my love" which she produced. With video and demo in hand she said goodbye to a very promising career in Australia and flew to London where she lived from May 1990 to May 1991. There she discovered songwriting and knew it was her ticket.

While in London she met Geoff Beauchamp (formerly the guitarist of Patsy Kinset’s 8th Wonder) who produced her second batch of songs, (many of the hundreds of songs written that year she is now re - recording for THE JOY HOUSE). She also had meetings with EMI, Virgin, Warner Brothers and Atlantic. All who showed interest but all had something to say..."It’s too Madonna, too Paula Abdul, too this, too that...." But it was Michael Rosenblatt at Warner Brothers (who ironically was the guy who discovered Madonna when he worked at Sire Records), who said that her songs were really strong and that she should be in the States. So with her drive, determination and "the big picture" in her mind she packed her bags again and flew to New York not knowing a soul. After two weeks she decided to check out Los Angeles but when she arrived grunge was emerging people didn’t want to hear “happy” music!

In 1992 - 1994 she put a band together she had some of LA’s top musicians playing with her James Bradley Junior (Chuck Mangone), Joe Simon (Fiona Apple), Marcello Consenza, Keith Barrows (Nancy Sinatra) and she performed’ at The Palace, The Palladium and Nelson Mandela’s Multi Cultural Event, plus many local clubs and even performing with her band off her balcony on Venice Boardwalk where Frank Zappa came up to her and said “I have heard very good things about you young lady”. To be honest she didn’t even know who was in 1992 but now knows he was "a music legend” and knows in her heart he was an angel sent for some strange reason to help remind her (especially over all these years) to never give up, to keep believing in yourself and stay focused on The Big Picture! God Bless him!

Over the years she had some introductions to some of the greats in music Bobby Womack, Issac Hayes, Barry White, (through Gene “Poo Poo Man” Anderson, who has never stopped believing in her) they all knew she could write and had something to give. Danny Bramson saw ‘it” too in 1999 when at Universal but sometimes it’s just not the right time!

1993 – 1996 still all the while concentrating on her music career, she got back into teaching ballet, dancing, choreographing and performing with the Los Angeles based Sinay Ballet and performed at The Greek Theater for Bijan Mortazavi. Driven by her dreams she choreographed music videos, worked as a dance stylist and make-up artist for photographers and as an actress a bit. She was featured in Warner Bros. "The Monroes", "Seinfeld" and the independent films "Dreamhouse", "Arizona Werewolf" directed by Tony Zarindast and "Cause’n’defect" directed by David Wee Wee.

In 1997, her song "Follow your heart" produced by Boris Midney was aired on GROOVE 103.1 Radio (Poorman’s Morning Show) and listeners loved it. Her song "SLAM" which she co-wrote with Brian Adler was placed in NBC’s TV movie "The Secret".

As a result of her performances over the years from 1991 to 1997 she has received positive press and reviews especially for her one woman show "SINGLE GIRL" The show, the music and the girl!

"Stunning talent with a brilliant future" TV GUIDE AUSTRALIA

She was contacted by Marc Farrari at Mastersource a TV and Film licensing who read her reviews in Music Connection and wanted her entire catalogue but she knew she didn’t want to give up everything so asked if they liked her material why not put her in the studio and write some new stuff and they did. As a result her song "Kick Inside" was placed in Warner Brothers’ "Sabrina the Teenage Witch", "All my children" plus many other TV Shows and used over 40 times for “Access Hollywood” along side some of the greatest songwriters ever (see the cue sheet below with John Lennon and Paul McCartney)
"Let's get to it" was used for Nintendo and numerous video games. Universal (UPMG) now publishes these songs!

In 1998 she was invited to judge "Miss Teen L.A" and "Miss Fitness America" and she presented Best Pop Band for the Rock City Music Awards. She also was the head of dance at The Sho Kosugi Institute (Ninja Turtles) in Los Angeles.

The road has been colorful, at times challenging but fun. She has always been resourceful and fortunate enough to find ways to survive by doing what she loves. It has been by truly following her heart and believing in her "big picture" that she has always discovered ways of promoting her art, talent and gift of communicating through her love of dance and music. She has finally discovered her niche and market the kids!

It was because of the positive response from audiences from her live shows, (the way she could motivate a crowd, get people up dancing and make everyone feel good) that she decided to start using her music to teach kids. It was also by seeing the schools in South Central that also inspired her. She could see there was a huge need and that was where her idea for The Joy House was born! The Joy House just made the kids happy and that made her happy! The kids loved her music and all her songs so this is what she decided to focus on. It was perfect she could get paid to create!

In 1998 she decided to produce her own TV Show for kids which she called THE JOY HOUSE TV SHOW. She produced and edited 26 shows (this was when Public Access was available) the shows aired on Saturday mornings for 6 years in Los Angeles on Channel 36 and got a lot of attention. In 2005 she took The Joy House TV Show to MIPTV in Cannes and China plus many other countries wanted internet rights! She knew she had something “special” this was just before mobile phones and internet streaming started to blow up!

In 2002 she had her first baby and raising a child alone is not easy. She decided to focus teaching The Joy House in the schools so that is where her time has been focused but she never stopped writing songs, creating ideas and building The Joy House. As a result in 2007 she was US Finalist for Time Warner and Washington DC’s “Cable’s Leader’s in Learning Awards” for General Excellence for The Joy House TV show and her vision for kids.

She also started The Joy House Dance Party (for birthday’s & all kinds of parties) using  positive self esteem building JOY HOUSE DANCE MUSIC that teaches, motivates & inspires kids to believe in themselves. It is Joy House Family Fun for everyone!
